State Questions on November Ballot.
Pat McGuigan of www.Capitolbeatok.com discusses six (6) Legislative referred State Questions that will appear on the November General Election Ballot. To hear Pats discussion and couple other interesting propositions go to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sqr7MSM0A5E&feature=youtu.be
Gist of the proposition:
SQ 758 - Limit property tax increases to 3% a year. Most likely and unfortunately, will only affect homestead, not commercial properties as original 5% increase included and will remain.
SQ 759 - Ban affirimitve action (prefencial treatment per national origin or ethnicity) in some government programs. Which ones?
SQ 762 - Remove the Governor from pardon and parole cases involving non-violent offenders. OK only state that has Governor involved to extent that OK allows.
SQ 764 - Would allow bonds to be issued for water infrastructure. More pressing in rural areas.
SQ 765 - Reform of DHS. Would abolish agencys governing commission and leave selection of executives to the Governor.
SQ 766 - Exempts intangible personal property from taxation. ie: name, trademark, etc. This would reverse a Supreme Court decision that allowed the tax.
Possibly on the ballot: SQ 763 - Passage (if on ballot) would permit option for counties of 50,000 or more persons to hold an election to decide if to allow sale of wine in grocery stores. Who in county would decide on election or not....???
This petition has been pulled! It will possibly be reconsidered for the 2014 ballot.
There is time to get copies of the SQ's and read and understand the fine print BEFORE you go to vote! Very important!

PROTECT CITIZENS RIGHT(S)
"It is unclear how disarming law-abiding citizens would better protect them from the dangers and threats posed by those who would flout the law. It is at just such times that the constitutional right to self-defense is most precious and must be protected from government overreach."
Rick Scott, Governor of Florida; Source: in rejecting Tampa Bay politicians request seeking suspension of the concealed-carry laws outside the Republican and Democratic national conventions

Run - Off Elections
Any race that requires a run-off to decide the candidate will be held Tuesday August 28. These run-off elections traditionally have very poor voter turn-out. YOUR candidate needs your vote NOW (run-off) more than ever. If there is a run-off in your area, please make every effort to cast your VOTE!
Republican and Democrat candidates running for office will be on the November 6 General Election ballot.
If you need to register to vote or make changes in your registration, NOW is the time to do it. At your local Election Board or some items can be handled on line at the State Election Board site: http://www.ok.gov/elections/

The State Republican Party Convention is coming up quickly - May 11-12. This convention will be at the Embassy Suites in Norman. If you signed up to be a delegate to this convention, you should have received details and it is hoped you will take that obligation seriously.
Friday nights Gala will feature Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal as keynote speaker.
Delegates will have numerous orders of business and one of the most important will be election of a new National Committeeman. A VERY important position for the State Party and the State of Oklahoma.
This writer has no doubt that Duncan native Steve Fair is best suited and qualified for this position!
Carolyn McLarty is seeking re-election as National Commiteewoman.

Valid ID: Necessity of Life
It is an article of faith among Democrats that there is NO voting fraud in the US and that Republican efforts to prevent such fraud - even the mildest of efforts, such as requiring identification for voters - are nothing less than the resurretion of Jim Crow.
Documentarian - prankster James O'Keefe has performed yet another public service by demonstrating exactly how easy fradulent voting is: an O'Keefe associate received a go-ahead to cast a ballot in the voting district of Attorney General Eric Holder - in the name of AG Eric Holder.
There are many things one cannot do without valid identification: buy beer, cash a check. travel on an airplane, drive a car, etc.
As our friends at PJ Media point out, one cannot visit Eric Holder in his office at the Justice Department without a valid photo ID.
O'Keefe's latest prank demonstrates that the liberal argument about voter fraud is fradulent itself.
