The 16th annual CCRP BBQ will be Saturday March 27 in Lawton. The annual event draws 'rib lovers' from all over the state...and Texas!
The event kicks-off at 6:00pm at the Worley Center [bldg 300] of the Great Plains Tech School in Lawton.
This year, award winning storyteller, SAM McMICHAEL, of SW OKlahoma, will entertain with stories and anecdotes of growing up in rural Oklahoma. (see bio below).

In addition, a fun live auction, silent auction, and drawing for a door prize.
The menu features 'Catfish Willies' real hickory smoked ribs with all the trimmins. (see above).
The CCRP would greatly appreciate your help if you are able to be a 'host' which helps underwrite the cost of the event. - $100. and includes 2 tickets. Individual tickets are only $20. per person. Tickets will be available at the door, but reservations are encourged and appreciated.
You can make reservations by mailing number of tickets needed along with payment to: CCRP, PO Box 705, Lawton, OK 73502.
Make checks payable to CCRP. Tickets/reservations are held at the door.

Sam McMichael is a long-time resident of the Apache, OK community. He grew up in the rich storytelling tradition of Southwest Oklahoma hearing tales of the early days of the state, tales of good times and bad times, tall tales, fish stories, hunting stories and brags.
He has worked this wealth of material into the fabric of his own experiences and fashioned unique stories full of pathos, humor, and surprise. Sam has traveled Oklahoma as a professional storyteller for the past twenty years spinning his yarns at schools, fairs, libraries, festivals and conventions.
